Parish Organizations
Pastoral Council
The council's primary responsibility is parish pastoral planning. It provides the overall vision and direction of the parish. The council oversees all parish ministries to ensure that pastoral needs are being met.
Administrative Council
The Administrative Council oversees the fiscal and administrative functions of the parish providing resources to meet pastoral needs. It approves an annual budget, monitors spending, and attends to maintenance of the parish facility.
Liturgy Committee
Supports and plans many functions for the liturgies. Organizes the many liturgical ministers, lectors, eucharistic ministers, altar servers, music ministers.
Comite Hispano
This committee serves the particular needs of the Hispanic community combining the functions of most; Pastoral Council, Liturgy, Christian Education etc. They coordinate with these other committees and may have representatives on each.
Parish & Family Life Committee
This committee's responsibilities can be divided into two areas: The first is to bring the parish family together for sharing, celebration and for laughter. This is accomplished through various dinners and festivals. The second aim is to provide support to parishioners through seniors group, moms group, singles, etc.
Charity, Peace & Justice Committee
Educates parishioners about Social Justice issues and supports parish projects to change unjust social structures so our culture better reflects the values of the Gospel and church social teachings. Supports local, national and world charities. Provides parishioners with opportunities to perform acts of charity and mercy.
Christian Formation & Education
Provides direction, evaluation, and policies for Faith Formation for all age levels of the parish.
Catholic Daughters of America
Their goal is the propagation and preservation of the Holy Faith, intensification of patriotism, and the material, moral and intellectual development of Catholic Womanhood. They are also pledged to the dispensation of charity.
Knights of Columbus
An organization of lay men to help the pastor with the spiritual, financial, and material needs of our parish. It is also a social club for its members and their families.
Eucharistic Adoration
Since 2001, a rotating group of faithful, dedicated parishioners has continued to adore the Holy Eucharist around the clock, seven days a week. Scheduled adorers sign up to share responsibility with one to two other individuals for one hour each week.
Landscaping
Organizes work parties to plant and maintain the landscape of the church and school. Groups get together on an as needed basis to keep the grounds looking good on the Saint James campus.
St. Vincent de Paul
Members visit the needy in the community and support them with clothing, furniture, and funds donated from Saint James Parish and the community at large.
